"The new website is user-friendly,
attractive and informative," says Walt Israel, director of Gaston Country
Travel & Tourism. "It needed to be a comprehensive planning guide for
visitors and offer in-depth info, so we took our time and did it right. We've
been very pleased."
M2 Design of Charlotte created the new
site, incorporating features such as Google mapping with directions to hotels
and attractions. The search-engine
friendly site also includes photo galleries, weather forecasts and social
media.
"I like things clean and organized,
so it was important to make it easy to get information on the site," says
Melissa McCauley of M2 Design. "A lot of
websites are confusing to navigate and get around. We wanted to avoid
that."
There is a calendar of events that can
easily be updated by the staff at Visit Gaston, and the color schemes will
change seasonally.
"We gave it a warm, cozy
feel," McCauley says. "It is part of a strategy to develop a brand
for
and the web presence. The look of the new visitors guide and website really go
together."
