The Cuthbertson family of Avery County opened their Snowy Mountain Christmas Tree Farm in 1974.  Focusing on "choose and cut", their farm features fresh Fraser Fir trees, from two feet to twenty feet tall.  They specialize in the larger trees, and also offer fresh wreaths and garland/roping. 


With the opening of Snowy Mountain Christmas Shop, the Cuthbertsons are now able to offer visitors and locals alike the full Christmas experience.  During the Christmas season, you can plan your family's Christmas shopping experience around Snowy Mountain - in fact, they will do much of it for you!  Snowy Mountain Christmas Tree Farm offers lodging packages for their choose and cut customers.  Those wishing an in depth experience can spend an entire day at the tree farm, taking in the incomparable views of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoying the holiday festivities provided by the Cuthbertsons and relaxing in a real farm environment - a wonderful learning experience for the kids.  Afterward, you can visit the Christmas Shop for everything needed to decorate both the tree and home.  You can also enjoy a hot coffee, cider, cocoa and a variety of home made cakes, candies, cookies and other "sweets".
