The Main Street Café

The Main Street Café was opened Oct 29, 2002 by Ron and Irene Mayo. Ron always had a desire to revitalize downtown Hamlet and give the people a place to go.  Ron is a collector of Coca-Cola collectibles and antiques, and the Café is decorated with those items of the past.

Main Street is famous for Wednesday’s Collard Sandwich and Fish Friday.  All deserts are homemade. Main Street Café host a Classic Car and Bike Cruise-In on the first Friday of every month from 5 to 9pm dinner served from 5-8pm.

The Mayos support Relay for Life and have held annual fish fries for the past 5 years with the Hamlet Pride Team.   The first one this year will be held March 31^st.  They also hold a family Fun Day on the 4^th of July.

In Sept. of 2005 Irene opened the Main Street Soda Shoppe featuring all homemade deserts. Her hours of operation are 12 to 9pm.  She holds Book Club meetings Birthday Party and allows groups to have functions.
