EXPERIENCE LIFE AS IT WAS ALMOST 200 YEARS AGO

          You can experience this lifestyle from the past at Shady Oaks Plantation B&B in Ansonville, North Carolina.  This once-working plantation originally spread over 900-acres from Highway 52 to the Pee Dee River and produced tobacco and cotton.  Now significantly restored, the restoration includes the main house, servant’s quarters, a three-story vintage barn, a large stocked lake, a hot tub and swimming pool, plus numerous other outbuildings dotting the beautiful tree-lined landscape.

          The majestic main house includes six double bedrooms and two single bedrooms while the servant’s quarters, still in the process of being restored, have four efficiency units, each sleeping four people on two floors and a one-apartment building originally used for curing and storing meat products   ---   perfect for visitors who wish to taste history and to prepare their own food.

 


 

HOW MUCH DOES A DOUBLE ROOM WITH A FULL BREAKFAST COST?

          The prices for lodging and a full breakfast are as follows:

·        Each tastefully decorated, well-lighted double room in the manor house is $150 per night

·        The single rooms rent for $100 each night

·        The efficiency units, intended for groups who wish to prepare their own food or make other arrangements, is $200 per unit for a night’s stay

·        The six-stall barn is available for the stabling of horses, on a short-term basis ($25 per night) or a long-term basis ($500 per month).  Renters bear the responsibility for providing food and feeding and caring for the animals.

 

 

 


CAN OTHER FUNCTIONS BE ACCOMODATED AT SHADY OAKS?

          Not only does Shady Oaks offer the hospitality of rooms for overnight stays, it can serve as the location for numerous other events:

FACILITIES NOTES

          The Shady Oaks facilities are not really appropriate for children under age 13.
